What: The Nicholas K Fall 2011 Fashion Show
What They Say: Nicholas K was conceptualized with the intent of providing sophisticated customers with modern classics to become wardrobe staples. Incorporating traditional quality and design with modern refinements and a downtown edge, Nicholas K offers items across the full women’s RTW product range as well as accessories and a menswear line that launched for Fall 2006.
What We Say: If you’re a little bit urban and little bit rock and roll, than Nicholas K is definitely a designer to draw inspiration from. In addition to lots of “too-cool” looking models (admittedly, they did look pretty cool), we saw apparel that worked the autumn hue rainbow, all of which make excellent neutrals. We’re talking khakis, burnt oranges, navy greens, browns, and our favorite, deep green velvets on pants, skirts and tops. We thoroughly enjoyed the jackets and coats, which were totally wearable for the everyday lady who wants fashion and function. Nicholas and Christopher Kunz, the two designers behind Nicholas K have a knack for taking intrinsically feminine embellishments, like fur or frills, and sucking the “girly” right out – in a good way.
Nicholas K is not for everyone, like if you wear pearls and Lily Pulitzer on the regular, you’ll wanna move on. However if you enjoy rocking edgy, oftentimes androgynous womenswear than you’ll totally dig this gritty vibe.
