What: TBF attended the DANNIJO Fall 2011 fashion presentation

What Inc.com Says: “Aside from their lauded design aesthetic — which Danielle and Jodie describe as “seamless fusion of edgy rock ‘n’ roll with an old world sensibility” — the sisters are confident they have captured a part of the fashion market that many consumers are still willing to spend money on. “We think of our jewelry as an accessible luxury,” Danielle says. “Purchasing a great accessory enables woman to access higher fashion while dealing with a smaller budget.” Most of DANNIJO’s pieces come in under $1,000, with some selling for just a few hundred dollars.”

What We Say: Some things just work together. Peanut Butter & Jelly. T-Shirt & Jeans. A sandy beach & chick lit. And apparently, the Wild West and the Roaring Twenties. Seriously.

Designers Danielle and Jodie Syder fused the two American eras to form the DANNIJO FAll 2011, and the captivating combination worked like chocolate and peanut putter. The strong silhouettes and rustic metals of the pastoral frontier were intertwined with the glitz and glamour of the 20’s by a superabundance of Swarovski elements. The raw yet ritzy baubles gave new meaning to the term “statement jewelry.” The theme for the collection was “Aboriginal,” and it was: earthy materials and tones meshed with modern sparkle to create a a completely original, totally enviable look.

Since launching in 2008, Danielle and Jodi have made a name for themselves by creating unique handmade pieces that can be layered and mixed together or worn alone. DANNIJO designs have been seen on celebs from Blake Lively and Leighton Meester to Whitney Port and Mila Kunis. And somehow, we have the feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of them.
