Summer 2011 is all about steamy, sophisticated, sexy beach looks (read: UnHoochie) Here are our favorite swimwear trends for this summer.

Hot Swimsuit Trends on a Budget

Hooded Swimsuits
Imagine a high leg, halter cut swimsuit with a hood. Umm, yeah. This is one of those trends that we’re really looking forward to seeing on a real person.

Monokinis
Better enjoy the Monokini while it lasts – it’s been so ubiquitous the past 2 summers or so, we’re guessing it won’t come back in 2012. Either way, we love the concept. Imagine a one-piece suit that’s actually more scandalously revealing than a bikini! The cut away style will hug your curves pretty tight (that’s on purpose), so if you’re already pretty voluptuous to begin with, try to avoid the Monokini. This style’s best for very athletic and/or petite women.

Metallics
2011’s sunbathers will be looking glam, thanks to glossy metallic head-turning suits like the ones below. However, if you’re not careful, you’ll look like a stripper in a metallic suit (especially if it’s gold) – so, find one with simple embellishments that add a “softness” to the look.

One Shoulder
One shoulder dresses and tops were all the rage this year, so why wouldn’t such a trend continue on into the summer? If you’ve got a beautiful neckline you want to show off, a one shoulder one-piece is an excellent choice. Only problem about these asymmetrical suits is… asymmetrical tans.

Waist High Bikinis
When in doubt, go retro. These waist high bikinis are both sultry and classic. We like.
