Nanhai No.
1, famous for receiving a Michelin Star just six months after its opening, will
collaborate with G.H. Mumm on an eight-course menu that pairs champagne
with Cantonese dishes by the upscale Chinese restaurant.
The special menu, to run from July 1 to 31, features eight of Nanhai
No.1’s signature dishes. Perfect
as an aperitif, G.H.
Mumm De Cramant pairs with green
beans in scallion sauce and then Deep-fried squid, the second course.
While soup has long been considered a
difficult course to pair with Champagne, iced conch with double-boiled conch soup expresso paired with
G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge is a nice break from tradition.
Other culinary highlights include baby abalone in lotus packets, king prawns served with G.H. Mumm Cordon
Rouge, and duck paired with the exquisite G.H. Mumm Cuvée R. Lalou 1999,
billed as the star bubbly of the night. Crispy deep fried black sesame dumpling
and a delightfully fruity G.H. Mumm Rosé
provide a sweet finish to the dining experience.
