Last weekend, Montblanc collaborated with community outreach
initiative Urban Arts Partnership to present the annual 24 Hour Plays in Los
Angeles. Hollywood’s
most talented stars came together and participated in an exciting stream of
live performances: writing, directing, and performing six original short plays
– all in 24 hours.
The creative process of the 24 Hour Plays began at 10 the night before the show. Six writers,
six directors, twenty-four actors, a musical guest and production team banded
together at The Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College of Performing Arts. Each
cast member brainstormed ideas before the writers began composing the plays, to
be completed by dawn the next
morning. With only twelve hours to rehearse, the actors performed the six new
plays, interspersed with musical acts, for the first and only time before a
live audience.
A celebration of the fine art of theater, the star-studded event aims to raise funds and awareness for
arts and education programs in the West Coast.
