Amidst the glamor and intense competition of the ongoing Diageo Reserve World Class Global Final, Johnnie Walker Blue Label has announced a Limited Edition run of 1,867 bottles to celebrate the launch of a contemporary new design for its iconic bottle. We were at the New Delhi launch and can safely say that the trademark smoke-gets-in-your-sweetness taste has not been tampered with.

The makers of the World’s Number One Scotch Whisky House will gift the 1,867 Limited Edition bottles to those who have achieved remarkable success in their fields.

Will
Peacock, Global Reserve Marketing Manager, said: “The Johnnie Walker
Blue Label is a remarkable achievement for the modern era. To celebrate
the
striking new look, these incredibly exclusive limited edition bottles
from the first bottling will be presented to those who, like John and
Alexander Walker, have created something extraordinary; accomplished
something special and changed the world around them.”

The
contemporary design of the new Blue Label bottle boasts beautifully crafted details that attest to the brand’s commitment
to its past and present: an ultra-thick glass base and side walls
frame the peerless blend inside; light blue glass allows the whisky to
shine through; the John Walker & Sons monogram and the Royal Warrant
are embossed directly onto the glass in a rich gold, and prominent individual bottle numbering
reflects the limited nature of this sublime Scotch Whisky. The limited editions will be presented on a bespoke plinth, in a crafted box and are uniquely numbered and signed by Johnnie Walker’s Master Blender, Jim Beveridge.

Both limited edition and revamped Blue Label will, of course, hold the same mellow, rounded nose that the drink is famous for. With its signature dry smokiness mixed with raisin sweetness, a sip of the Blue Label will reveal a velvety texture in the mouth, then an explosion of hazelnuts, honey, rose petals, sherry and oranges.
Subsequent sips yield hidden notes of kumquat, wispy
aromatic smoke, sandalwood, tobacco, and dark chocolate.
