Burberry Prorsum’s Spring Summer 2012 men’s collection, which was
sent down the runways of Milan last weekend and broadcast live, has
turned out beautifully detailed, extremely wearable pieces that will fit
nicely into the breezy spring wardrobe of today’s free-spirited gent.

Trendy without being over-the-top, the tribal-inflected shirts with
painstakingly dabbed prints come awash in rich, jewel tones of mustard,
coral and earthy taupe and olive. Lightweight nylon parkas are similarly hued and
luxed up with shearling collars.

Indeed, the intricacy of the looks was a key specification for Christopher Bailey, Burberry Prorsum’s Chief Creative Officer, who had this to say of the Spring Summer pieces: “This collection started with our iconic heritage as the foundation. We really wanted to emphasise this feeling of handcrafted pieces, celebrating
craftsmanship but always with this playful element. We’ve taken our icons
and played with texture to personalise and give them a real character and charm,
using colour to highlight the intricate detail that goes into crafting
them.”

Accessories are gorgeous objects of desire, with the cork-lined shoes
and moccasins in woven leather and straw being a particular highlight
of the collection. Bags are slouchy hobo duffles in zig-zag prints, and for the truly indulgent, consider the iPad sleeve in luscious mustard alligator.

If any of these pieces have caught your fancy, you’ll be chuffed to know they’re available for pre-order online, before the full collection hits stores worldwide in August.
