Chanel has just re-opened its flagship boutique at Singapore’s swanky Takashimaya Shopping Centre, revealing a stunning new interior and a brand new second floor dedicated entirely to its Ready-to-Wear collections. With the revamp, the store has doubled in size, now measuring an expansive 7000 square feet, making it the largest Chanel boutique in Southeast Asia. To mark the opening, the House is unveiling a series of limited edition Singapore pieces that have been specially designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

The brilliant duplex boutique by celebrated architect Peter Marino, who
designs Chanel’s boutiques worldwide, provides dedicated areas for
Ready-to-Wear, Accessories, Shoes, a Watch Library and a Fine Jewellery
Salon. The immediate impression is one of sumptuous, quiet luxury
resonating from the textured hand-painted gold wallpaper and bespoke
pieces of furniture, among them an Ado Chale black resin coffee table
inlaid with stones and lounge chairs upholstered in tweed.

High ceilings and lacquered beige paneling on the walls create an atmosphere of light in which clients can thoroughly enjoy the collections. The Salon Privé is an area which, when closed off by folding doors, is perfect for private viewings. On the second floor wall an exquisite work of art by Brazilian
artist Vik Muniz takes pride of place. For this specially-commissioned work, Vik Muniz
appropriated an early portrait of Mademoiselle Chanel, incorporating
images of mechanical components of Chanel watches.

Three exclusive new bags combine the tradition of Chanel’s artisanal leatherwork with the audacity of high-shine metallics. A tote in exotic snakeskin shimmers in dark silver, copper or bronze. As practical as it is beautiful, the Singapore bag features a tasselled zipper along its base that opens to expand when needed. These limited edition creations also bear the signature “SINGAPORE EXCLUSIVE” hidden inside the bag on a silver metal plaque, upping their covetability and making them the perfect collector’s item for the Singaporean bagsnob.
