A symbol of the human can-do spirit, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer
celebrates perseverance and the exquisite balance between technical
development, experience in the field, thoughtfulness and action. Faithful to its
heritage and unique identity, the new Oyster Perpetual Explorer II was a clear favorite of journalists and observers at the recently concluded BaselWorld 2011. It exemplifies
multifaceted strength in today’s world, while imparting a new élan to the elegant lines
which have long established it as a style icon.
Exactly 40 years after its launch, the Oyster Perpetual Explorer II
has been updated to reach new heights of dependability. Its case,
enlarged to 42 mm, houses the new calibre 3187 entirely designed and manufactured by Rolex. Scaling new
heights in precision, the new Explorer comes equipped
with a sophisticated self-winding mechanical movement featuring the Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. Its chronometric
precision and exceptional resistance to extreme conditions makes this year’s
Explorer II the benchmark for reliable and robust timekeeping instruments.
