This week, Audi unleashed its A7 Sportback in Singapore.
The handsome five-door coupe, with its sleek hood, C-pillars and optional LED
headlights, combines a sporty spirit with formidable efficiency and power.
Measuring 4.97m long, 1.91m wide and 1.42m high, the lean,
mean machine comes with a choice of two V6 petrol engines – the 2.8 FSI quattro
(204 bhp) and the 3.0 TFSI quattro (300 bhp). Both models are
outrigged with a seven-speed S tronic transmission and Audi’s quattro permanent
all-wheel drive system.
The 2.8 FSI quattro goes from 0-100 kmh in 8.3 seconds and
has a top speed of 235kmh while the 3.0 TFSI quattro completes the century
sprint in 5.6 seconds and maxes out at 250kmh. Even at such high speeds, the A7
Sportback boasts excellent acoustics, with very low interior noise levels the
result of exquisitely-tuned components, systematic hydraulic damping in the
axle and drivetrain bearings.
More accolades and buzz for this model: the A7 is the winner
of the ‘Auto Bild’ Design Summit, and is available for test-drives at The Promontory@Marina Bay all through Boat
Asia 2011. It’s also the official car for this year’s Audi
Fashion Festival, a much-hyped calendar highlight that kicks off on May 13.
