What: TBF attended the JC Penney Call It Spring Launch Event.
What They Say: Call It Spring was launched as a unique 400 sq. foot whop-within-a-shop concept, providing JCPEnney customers an extensive collection of over 324 styles of on-trend footwear and accessories – all at smart prices. The concept launched last fall in JCPenney’s Manhattan store, is growing to 100 JCpenney stores and on jcp.com in spring 2011 and then to an additional 400 stores in fall 2011.
What We Say: We are quite happy with JC Penney nowadays, what with their designer collaborations with Nicole Miller and others, their on trend pieces and their general direction. We were equally pleased with their Call It Spring line, which we checked out at their event. Along with a design concept walk-through with the creative director and champagne (don’t mind if we do), there were tons of spring shoes, bags, and accessories- like multiple walls and displays of different styles. JCP created three vignettes that illustrated the three themes you should expect to see: A picnic, day in the park concept, a romantic, vintage theme and a tribal-inspired one.
The tribal looks were not our favorite –some of the sandals were a bit overly-embellished and appeared to be trying to hard to be fashionable–though some more basic versions were cute. But otherwise, most of the shoes from all three concepts were awesome, like a pair of adorable two-tone oxford flats, wedge cut-out sandals, boat shoes and clog platforms. All of which are very on trend and very affordable with the main price-points ranging from $39.99 to $59.99. This is definitely a spring line worth checking out, mostly for the shoes, but their handbags and accessories were cute too.
Note: Suzanna received a pair of shoes from the Call It Spring line.
