So, it’s looking like white is the new black this season — from Gwyneth Paltrow to Jessica Alba, celebrities have been doing away with dark cold weather colors and breaking out their LWD’s (Little White Dress) for red carpet events. Who can blame them? Winter is such a brutally cold and dull season that a little bright white may be just what we need to lift our spirits from the cold weather blues.

The trick to wearing a white dress in the winter is making sure that the fabric has a little weight to it like a white knit sweater dress. If you’re going to do a lighter fabric such as a lace white dress then make sure you’re pairing it with a dark handbag and shoes. We like a little white dress with a pair of dark wedges or ankle booties. If you’re wearing a sexy LWD to a party then try a pair of satin or suede pumps.
