The Council of
Fashion Designers of America has spoken: Michael Bastian is 2011’s
Menswear Designer of the Year. This is the fourth consecutive year that the
CFDA has nominated Bastian for the award.

Michael Bastian, born 1965 in Lyons,
New York, has had a long and illustrious
career in the business. Before launching his own menswear line in 2006, he held
positions within Sotheby’s, Tiffany & Co., Polo Ralph Lauren, and most
recently, Bergdorf Goodman, where he was the men’s fashion director. In Fall
2010, Michael Bastian entered into a long-term collaborative effort with GANT,
creating the popular GANT by Michael Bastian line for men and women.
