What: TBF attended David’s Bridal Fall 2011 Collection Preview and checked out their new looks.

What We Say: Aside from the affordability at David’s Bridal (which we obviously love), we were particularly taken with their innovative multi-function outfits and accessories. Though the bridal gowns are usually the main attraction, this go-round we were more enamored by the rest of the collection.

Our favorite thing about the Fall 2011 new collection was the versatility. Okay, so the bridal gowns are a one-time wear, obviously, but the mother of the bride dresses as well as the bridesmaid gowns looked great for many occasions. We know, we know–everybody says that, but you still have a closet full of ugly gowns a la 27 Dresses. Seriously though, the special occasion styles were great for weddings, but also for bar mitzvahs, cocktails with your girls and more. One of our favorite dresses was super sleek, short and combined navy and black lace – two hues that look great together. A lot of the bridesmaid gowns, embellishments for bridal gowns (sashes, etc.) and accessories came in deeply saturated hues of peacock, plum and mercury, which were fall appropriate and very pretty, but also transferrable to your every day life.

Versatility carried on over to the accessories with lots of shoes that had removable and movable embellishments. Headpieces that doubled as belts were featured, as well. Count us in – getting multiple items out of a single accessory is our bag, baby.

Our other favorite item, though not versatile like the rest of the collection (unless you channel the 1950’s or the British Royal Family regularly), was the fascinator (a headpiece with veils and other adornments). What are bridal accessories these days without a little Kate Middleton influence?
